Anthropic and Infosys are developing AI agents for telecommunications and other regulated industries, the two companies said on February 17, 2026. The collaboration aims to deliver enterprise AI solutions across telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, and software development.
The partnership integrates Anthropic’s Claude models and Claude Code with Infosys Topaz, a set of services and platforms using generative and agentic AI technologies. The goal is to help companies accelerate software development and adopt AI with the governance and transparency that regulated industries require.
AI Agents for Telecommunications and Other Sectors
The collaboration targets five specific sectors. In telecommunications, AI agents will help carriers modernize network operations, simplify customer lifecycle management, and improve service delivery. In financial services, AI agents will help firms detect and assess risk faster, automate compliance reporting, and deliver more personalized customer interactions.
In manufacturing and engineering, Claude will help accelerate product design and simulation, reducing R&D timelines. Software development teams will use Claude Code to write, test, and debug code. Meanwhile, Claude Cowork will help enterprise teams automate routine work such as document summarization, status reporting, and review cycles.
Agentic AI for Complex, Multi-Step Tasks
A core focus of the collaboration is agentic artificial intelligence—systems that independently handle multi-step tasks such as processing claims, generating and testing code, or managing compliance reviews. Using tools like the Claude Agent SDK, Infosys and Anthropic will help clients build AI agents that work persistently across long, complex tasks and processes.
The collaboration will also help organizations modernize legacy systems. Combining Infosys Topaz and Claude, the two companies aim to make migration faster and reduce the cost of updating aging infrastructure.
Quotes from Leadership
“There’s a big gap between an AI model that works in a demo and one that works in a regulated industry—and if you want to close that gap, you need domain expertise. Infosys has exactly that kind of expertise across important industries: telecom, financial services, and manufacturing. Their developers are already using Claude Code to accelerate their work and to create AI agents for industries that demand precision, compliance, and deep domain knowledge.”
Dario Amodei, CEO and Co-founder, Anthropic
“AI is not just transforming business, it is redefining the way industries operate and innovate. Our collaboration with Anthropic marks a strategic leap toward advancing enterprise AI, enabling organizations to unlock value and become more intelligent, resilient, and responsible.”
Salil Parekh, Chief Executive Officer, Infosys
India as a Key Market and Anthropic’s Expanded Presence
India is the second-largest market for Claude.ai. Nearly half of Claude usage in India involves building applications, modernizing systems, and shipping production software. Infosys is one of the first partners in Anthropic’s expanded presence in India.
Claude is available on Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, and Microsoft Azure. The telecommunications sector, in particular, stands to benefit from the collaboration’s focus on network modernization and intelligent automation in one of the most operationally complex regulated industries globally.
Furthermore, the partnership reflects a broader industry trend of combining large language models with domain-specific expertise to meet the compliance and operational demands of regulated industries. The two companies did not disclose financial terms of the agreement.
