The AuditBoard rebrand Optro marks a significant shift for the GRC software sector, as the company formally retired its decade-old name during the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Great Audit Minds conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 10, 2026. The company said the new identity reflects its expanded focus on agentic artificial intelligence for enterprise risk management.
Why AuditBoard Rebrand Optro Now
Optro said the timing aligns with a broader industry transition from reactive risk management to proactive, AI-driven risk anticipation. The platform serves audit, risk, information security, and compliance teams. Moreover, the company said it aims to deliver a unified view across all four disciplines through a single connected platform.
Agentic AI at the Core of the New Platform
Optro said its platform enables teams to use enterprise-grade AI to convert risks into opportunities continuously, with accountability and security. Chief Executive Officer Raul Villar Jr. said the evolution represents more than a name change. “Today, AuditBoard becomes Optro. This evolution reflects more than a new name — it embodies the work we have done with our customers and partners to build an enterprise-grade agentic operating system designed for the modern risk practitioner,” Villar Jr. stated.
“As we begin this new chapter as Optro, our core and our commitment to our exceptional customer community remain the same.”

FairNow Acquisition Strengthens AI Governance
Optro recently acquired FairNow, a solution built specifically for AI governance. The company said the acquisition enhances its capabilities through intelligent, automated, step-by-step AI compliance guidance. Furthermore, Optro completed several executive appointments over the past year, including Hugo Doetsch as Chief Financial Officer, Jim Sperduto as Chief Growth Officer, and Paaras Parker as Chief People Officer.
Recognition and Market Position
Optro said it received multiple industry recognitions ahead of the rebrand. The company appeared on G2 Best Software Awards 2026 lists in both the Best Governance, Risk and Compliance Software and Best Software for Enterprise categories. In addition, Optro ranked on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ list for the seventh consecutive year. Gartner® placed the company in the Leaders quadrant of its Magic Quadrant™ for GRC Tools for Assurance Leaders in 2025. The Cybersecurity Breakthrough Awards 2025 also named Optro the Risk Management Solution Provider of the Year.
Chief Marketing Officer April Crichlow said the company’s mission has grown alongside the sector’s shift toward AI. “Over the past decade, our name has been synonymous with helping our customers see risk before it happens. As the industry enters the AI era, where risks move at machine speed, our mission has expanded,” Crichlow stated. The rebrand positions Optro to address cybersecurity and compliance challenges at the speed modern enterprises require.
