Bosch Business Innovations, the company’s corporate venture builder, will receive around 200 million euros in investment over the next five years to develop new business ideas and scale startups beyond its core operations. The initiative marks a strategic expansion of Bosch’s innovation efforts in high-growth technology areas.
The venture builder aims to establish 20 successful spin-offs by 2030. Initial focus areas include software-controlled manufacturing, remote health monitoring, and carbon capture and storage technologies. Additional business areas will be added over the next four years as the program develops.
Partnership Model Accelerates Market Entry
Bosch Business Innovations relies on partnerships with experienced venture studios to bring new business ideas from conception to market maturity. The company combines its own strengths, including technological expertise, patent power, and industrial scaling capabilities, with the speed and flexibility of external startup partners.
The partnership approach deliberately shares opportunities and risks while systematizing implementation of innovations. External entrepreneurs receive early involvement in ventures and take on active roles from inception. External investors also participate early to provide additional capital and market access.
“Innovative strength and technology leadership are an integral part of Bosch’s history. We’re now significantly strengthening Bosch Business Innovations with financial resources so that new ideas have a home and the space to develop.”
Stefan Hartung, Chairman of the Board of Management, Robert Bosch GmbH
Three Priority Investment Areas for Bosch Business Innovations
Remote health monitoring represents a rapidly growing but fragmented market. Bosch possesses advantages in this space through its existing healthcare ecosystem, including the Robert Bosch Hospital and numerous hospital partnerships. The company also leads globally in MEMS sensors, which are essential components in remote health monitoring applications.
In software-controlled manufacturing, Bosch leverages its industrial strength alongside expertise in data, artificial intelligence, and software development. Targeted startup investments aim to create platform-based business models for manufacturing operations.
Carbon capture represents the third strategic investment area. Bosch examines pathways to translate industrial decarbonization and carbon capture from ambient air into viable business models, addressing growing environmental concerns.
Restructuring Prior Venture Portfolio
Bosch Business Innovations evolved from grow platform GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary that previously developed internal startups. The company restructured this existing portfolio to create viable future prospects for all teams, either within or outside Bosch. Bosch Advanced Ceramics, a ceramic 3D printing specialist, achieved a significant milestone when Bosch successfully sold it to Sintokogio, a provider of industrial equipment and manufacturing solutions, at the end of 2025.
“Our aim is to systematically develop new ideas beyond our current core business. We combine this structural advantage of a large company with the speed and flexibility of the startup world.”
Axel Deniz, CEO of Bosch Business Innovations
Bosch Business Innovations as Innovation Pillar
Bosch Business Innovations now establishes itself as an additional pillar in the company’s broader innovation activity. Other innovation pillars include extensive research and development activities across Bosch operations and the existing venture capital unit, Bosch Ventures. Together, these initiatives support Bosch’s long-term commitment to technology-led growth and business transformation across emerging sectors.
