Anthropic has updated its developer tool to support Claude Code artifacts, enabling users to generate live and interactive web pages directly from their development sessions.
This new capability allows software teams to visualize their work progress in real time. Consequently, developers can now share system explainers, dashboards, and release checklists without setting up external infrastructure.
The system builds these visual pages by utilizing the complete context of an active session. Specifically, it integrates data from the codebase, active connectors, and the ongoing conversation. As a result, an incident page can display failing tests alongside error spikes from connected monitoring tools.
How Claude Code artifacts Improve Collaboration
When a developer updates a session, the shared page refreshes automatically for all authenticated team members. Furthermore, the platform maintains a complete version history for every published page, allowing teams to restore previous versions easily. A centralized gallery also helps users browse and manage all the pages they have created.
Security remains a primary focus for these shared development pages. By default, every generated page is private to its author. Meanwhile, administrators can manage access using organization-level toggles, role-based scoping, and cybersecurity retention policies.
Practical Use Cases Across Teams
The tool supports various roles within an organization by generating specific visual outputs. For instance, legal teams can request a license audit of all dependencies directly from the repository. Similarly, security professionals can generate pages that link findings directly to specific lines of code.
Software engineers can use the tool to create pull request walkthroughs. Additionally, site reliability engineers can build incident pages that update automatically during active investigations. These pages compile timelines, suspect commits, and error charts into a single view.
Administrative and Security Controls
Organizations can monitor usage through a compliance API that provides visibility across all active sessions. Notably, these pages cannot be made public, ensuring that proprietary code remains secure. This structure helps teams maintain strict data privacy standards during collaborative tasks.
Administrators can also set specific retention policies to automatically delete older pages. This control ensures that sensitive development data does not persist indefinitely. Consequently, organizations can align their use of Claude Code artifacts with internal data governance policies.
Availability and Access
The new feature is currently available in beta for Claude Team and Enterprise organizations. Users can access it through the command-line interface and the desktop application. Meanwhile, the generated pages remain viewable in any standard web browser. This rollout aims to simplify how development teams communicate status updates during complex projects.
