Under the updated system, contextual information gathered during conversational chats transfers directly into Claude Cowork workspaces. For instance, if a user outlines conference logistics such as attendee counts, target cities, and speaker rosters during an initial chat session, Cowork retains those exact references when moving into task execution. In addition, the assistant now saves topics to memory continuously throughout an active discussion rather than waiting to compile and generate a summary at the end of a session.
User Control and Memory Management Settings
Users maintain granular oversight over what the system retains, with integrated options to review, modify, or remove specific memory entries at any point. Anthropic has structured the service architecture so that sensitive personal records remain excluded by default settings.
