Ford secured the top position among mainstream brands in the JD Power 2026 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS). This achievement marks the highest-ever position for the automaker and represents the first time it has reached this milestone since 2010. Consequently, the brand has established a strong performance record across its vehicle lineup.
Ford Achieves Top Ranking in Initial Quality Study
The results show a significant improvement from previous years, specifically noting the rise from the 15th position in 2023. Furthermore, several individual vehicle models secured top placements within their respective categories. Specifically, the Ford F-150, Mustang, and Super Duty each led their segments for the second consecutive year.
In addition, seven out of the ten Ford models tested placed within the top three of their categories. This represents the highest percentage of top-three placements achieved by any automaker in the 2026 evaluation. As a result, the brand has demonstrated consistent performance across multiple vehicle segments.
Segment Leaders and Model Performance
The segment-leading models, including the F-150 and Mustang, represent key segments in the global automotive sector. These vehicles undergo extensive evaluations to measure initial quality over the first months of ownership. The distributor noted that the Initial Quality Study results reflect the brand’s commitment to engineering.
“At Ford MYNM, our customers have always come first — and this recognition demonstrates the quality-first standard we hold ourselves to every day. Choosing Ford means choosing a brand built around quality, performance, and engineering built for the long run”
Jason Blane, Ford MYNM Managing Director
The Quality Transformation Process
The company attributed this improvement in the Initial Quality Study to a long-term investment in engineering, manufacturing, and software quality. Specifically, the transformation involved closer collaboration between engineering and manufacturing teams. Meanwhile, deeper supplier integration and rigorous software testing before vehicle delivery also contributed to the results.
Regional Distribution in Saudi Arabia
Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors (MYNM) serves as the official distributor for the brand in the Western and Southern regions of Saudi Arabia. The distributor invited customers to visit its showrooms to experience the vehicles. This development aligns with the growing demand for reliable transportation in the regional economy.
