Group-IB has joined the MITRE Fight Fraud Framework (F3) as one of its initial data contributors, the Singapore-headquartered cybersecurity firm said on April 13, 2026. The company also confirmed plans to integrate the standard into its Fraud Intelligence platform, allowing organizations to apply the new taxonomy alongside real-time, adversary-driven fraud intelligence.
What Group-IB Contributed to the MITRE Fight Fraud Framework
Group-IB’s contribution draws on its proprietary library of fraud tactics, techniques, and classification methodologies. These were derived from active investigations and long-standing collaboration with major banks and financial institutions worldwide. The company’s work with INTERPOL, Europol, and other international law enforcement agencies across dozens of joint cybercrime investigations also informed the submission.
As one of a strategic group of global contributors, Group-IB joins major financial institutions, payment providers, and fraud prevention organizations. The MITRE F3 establishes a common taxonomy for financial fraud, enabling organizations to classify and communicate threats using a shared language.
Fraud Matrix and Predictive Detection
Group-IB’s Fraud Matrix delivers predictive threat intelligence by continuously analyzing patterns across fraud campaigns. It identifies how techniques evolve and migrate between sectors, including financial services, e-commerce, telecommunications, gaming, and cryptocurrency. This approach allows organizations to anticipate emerging attack vectors rather than respond to them after the fact.
The planned integration of MITRE F3 into Fraud Matrix will allow users to map standardized fraud classifications to live detection methodologies, mitigation strategies, and investigative reporting. Group-IB said this connection between industry standards and operational defense is a key goal of the integration.
Coordination Across Financial and Law Enforcement Sectors
Standardized frameworks enable stronger coordination between private organizations, financial institutions, and law enforcement agencies. Group-IB said its contribution to MITRE F3, combined with its ongoing work with global banks and public-sector partners, supports more effective information sharing and collective fraud disruption. The firm operates Digital Crime Resistance Centers across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Central Asia, and the Asia-Pacific.
“Fraud doesn’t start with a transaction — it starts with an attacker. That’s the lens we brought to F3: real visibility into how fraudsters operate, how their tactics evolve, and how they move across borders. We’re committed to making sure it translates into operational detection, not just classification.”
