The HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro is now available for sale in Saudi Arabia, starting at 3,699 SAR. The device marks the first Mate series smartphone to reach global markets after an extended gap, and it goes on sale through Huawei’s official stores and select retail partners across the Kingdom.
True-to-Color Camera System
The phone ships with Huawei’s True-to-Color camera system, which the company describes as its most advanced smartphone camera to date. The system delivers accurate colour reproduction in difficult lighting conditions, preserving fine detail in low-light scenes. A larger pixel size increases light intake, while colour consistency holds steady when switching between the main, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses.
The telephoto lens focuses as close as 5 cm, enabling macro photography. Huawei said the system gives users multiple creative options for capturing subjects at varying distances.
HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro AI Composition Feature
A key addition to the camera suite is AI Composition, which analyses a scene in real time. The feature assesses subjects, lines, light, and balance, then suggests an optimal crop or zoom level. Subtle composition hints appear directly in the viewfinder, guiding the user toward better framing without requiring manual adjustments.
Durability and Build Materials
On the durability side, the front of the device uses second-generation Kunlun Glass with embedded high-strength nano-crystals. Huawei said this glass offers 20 times better drop resistance compared to conventional glass. The rear panel uses vegan fibre, which the company says provides five times greater impact resistance while offering a smooth texture.
The Mate 80 Pro carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, covering resistance to water immersion and high-temperature, high-pressure water jets. This dual certification provides protection against both dust and water intrusion in a range of conditions.
Battery, Charging, and Performance
The device runs on a 5,750 mAh battery, designed to support full-day usage. It supports 100W wired SuperCharge and 80W wireless SuperCharge. Huawei stated that overall performance sees a 21% improvement over the previous generation, and the phone ships with 16GB of RAM to handle demanding applications and multitasking workloads.
“The HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro sets a new benchmark for flagship smartphones, delivering breakthrough innovations in cameras, durability, and performance that truly matter.”
Huawei Consumer Business Group
Huawei Consumer Business Group is one of three business groups within Huawei, covering smart devices, tablets, laptops, wearables, and audio products. The company reported total research and development spending of more than 23 billion USD in 2023, representing 23.4% of Huawei’s total revenue that year. Cumulative R&D investment over the past decade exceeds 154 billion USD.
