The Huawei Watch Face program has partnered with Ajman University to launch a designer cultivation and recruitment initiative in the Middle East and Africa.
This collaboration aims to develop emerging digital design talent and expand opportunities for creators within the smartwatch platform. Notably, the initiative was introduced during an on-campus engagement session held at the university on May 13, 2026.
During the introductory session, more than 200 students registered their interest in joining the designer community. Consequently, these participants will have opportunities to join future design projects, competitions, and platform activities. Furthermore, the initiative supports aspiring designers in transforming their skills into commercial opportunities within the wearable technology economy.
Huawei Watch Face Program Details
Students and faculty members from design-related disciplines received detailed information about the Huawei Watch Face program. Specifically, the presentation covered participation pathways, design standards, submission requirements, and global platform opportunities. Meanwhile, participants learned how to develop, publish, and distribute their designs through the official apps store.
Student Engagement and Registration
The platform currently offers more than 100,000 designs globally to its users. In addition, designers whose works are successfully launched on the platform receive official certification from the company. Outstanding creators may also receive invitations to participate in official events, designer showcases, and developer activities. As a result, these designers can connect with industry professionals and gain wider visibility.
