G20 Finance Meeting on the Sidelines
On the sidelines of the Spring Meetings, Minister Aljadaan and Governor Al-Sayari will attend the first Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting of the G20, held this year under the United States presidency. The session marks an early multilateral touchpoint ahead of the broader G20 calendar.
Minister Aljadaan to Chair IMF-WBG Spring Meetings Committee
Minister Aljadaan will chair the IMFC, the policy-steering committee of the International Monetary Fund. The committee’s agenda covers global economic developments, growth prospects, and challenges facing the world economy, as well as ways to strengthen the stability of the international financial system and support multilateral cooperation.
He will also participate in the World Bank Group’s Development Committee meeting. That session will address priority economic and development topics, including the WBG’s strategic directions on supporting job creation globally.
Agenda Topics and Global Context
Side sessions during the Spring Meetings will cover global growth prospects in light of current geopolitical developments. Participants will also discuss ways to strengthen the resilience of the international financial system, the role of international financial institutions in supporting economic stability, and the importance of multilateral cooperation.
The Spring Meetings bring together finance ministers, central bank governors, and senior officials from international financial institutions. Representatives from the private sector, civil society organizations, and academia also attend to discuss shared economic challenges and the state of the global financial system.
Saudi Arabia’s active participation in these forums reflects the Kingdom’s ongoing engagement with global economic governance bodies, a priority that aligns with its broader fiscal reform agenda under Vision 2030.
