Most sudden cardiac arrest cases occur outside hospitals, meaning bystanders often provide the first response before emergency teams arrive. According to American Heart Association data, immediate CPR can double or even triple a patient’s chances of survival.
Furthermore, survival rates decrease by approximately 7 to 10 percent with every minute of delay in providing resuscitation. Consequently, widespread CPR training in both clinical and community settings carries significant public health implications.
