Meta AI support tools are expanding globally, as Meta launched its Meta AI Support Assistant on Facebook and Instagram, alongside a set of advanced artificial intelligence systems designed to improve content enforcement across its platforms.
The assistant is now available in multiple countries and regions on Facebook and Instagram for iOS and Android devices. It is also accessible through the Help Center on desktop versions of both applications. Meta said the tool responds to user requests in under five seconds, reducing wait times compared to traditional help centers.
What the Meta AI Support Assistant Can Do
The Meta AI Support Assistant addresses account-related issues directly within the app. Meta said the tool can take action on a wider range of requests on Facebook, with Instagram support to follow. Key functions include reporting scams, fake accounts, and policy-violating content, as well as managing privacy settings, changing passwords, and updating profile information.
The assistant also helps users understand why their content was removed, what appeal options are available, and how to track next steps. Meta said the tool is available in all languages supported by Facebook and Instagram for support topics.

Meta AI Support and Advanced Content Enforcement Results
Meta said early tests of its advanced artificial intelligence enforcement systems produced measurable results. The systems detected and blocked 5,000 credential phishing attempts daily that traditional review teams could not identify. User reports related to impersonation of the most-targeted public figures dropped by more than 80 percent.
The systems also doubled the efficiency of detecting adult grooming content compared to human review teams, while reducing error rates by more than 60 percent. Additionally, the AI identified compromised accounts by analyzing patterns such as logins from new locations, password changes, and profile edits — signals that appear harmless individually but indicate a threat when combined.
Meta said the systems detected fraudulent websites impersonating legitimate sports brand stores by identifying original logos used without authorization, unrealistically low prices, and suspicious domain names. Expanding these systems reduced ad impressions linked to scams and other serious violations by 7 percent.
Language Coverage and Cultural Adaptability
The new cybersecurity enforcement systems cover languages used by approximately 98 percent of internet users, up from a previous coverage of around 80 languages. Meta said the systems adapt to cultural nuances, including specialized subcultures, rapidly changing region-specific coded language, emoji semantics, and colloquial expressions.
Human Oversight Remains Central to the Approach
Meta said it plans to deploy these advanced AI systems across its applications over the coming years, after confirming they consistently outperform current content enforcement methods. As part of this shift, Meta said it will reduce reliance on third-party vendors for content enforcement and focus on strengthening internal systems and staff capabilities.
Human reviewers will continue to handle the most sensitive decisions, including appeals related to account disabling and reports submitted to law enforcement. Meta said experts will design, train, oversee, and evaluate AI systems, while also measuring performance and making complex decisions. The company stated that AI does not replace human judgment but enhances its accuracy and consistency across billions of posts.
Meta said each AI system undergoes rigorous testing, with safeguards built and evaluated to ensure neutrality, protection against bias, and consistency. The company added that its community standards will not change as part of this transition. Tools such as the Meta AI Support Assistant will also improve content reporting methods and appeal processes when errors occur.
