According to reporting by Wired, the tool operates inside a cloud environment that isolates user activity while carrying out specific actions across web platforms and software services.
Core Architecture and Cloud Security
To ensure security and user privacy during autonomous operations, Meta built an isolated virtual setup called Muse Secure VM for every user. This cloud setup hosts the personal assistant alongside a dedicated security bot named Sentinel. Sentinel works independently at the system level to regulate web access, monitor automated workflows, and manage user approvals before any sensitive actions take place. Furthermore, the architecture is designed so that the agent cannot directly view personal payment methods or saved passwords, protecting private user credentials during active browsing sessions.
Capabilities of the Meta Muse AI agent
Powered by the underlying Muse Spark model, the system handles simple daily inquiries as well as multi-step, long-term workflows. Users can direct the assistant to compose emails, research and book travel plans, or structure project schedules across different digital services. In addition, the tool can independently open web browsers, fill out complex digital forms, and navigate everyday applications. The software continues background processing even after people close the interface or step away from their devices, alerting them only when sensitive steps or purchase confirmations require direct authorization.
Purchasing Integration and Financial Tools
The platform extends directly into digital commerce through integrated financial safeguards. Meta added support for Link by Stripe, which generates single-use virtual cards to shield real credit and debit card details during online checkouts. This checkout feature provides built-in purchase protection on qualifying orders, including automated coverage for damaged items or unexpected price drops. Integrations with Shop Pay and 1Password are also scheduled for upcoming releases, advancing financial convenience and credential protection across the digital economy.

Meta released the tool initially in the United States across iOS, Android, and web browsers at muse.ai. While basic functions are available at no charge with weekly usage limits, optional subscription tiers offer higher execution limits for advanced users. The company confirmed that user interaction data generated from private virtual machines will not feed into advertising platforms, and plans are underway to introduce fully encrypted virtual machines later this year to further secure the Meta Muse AI agent environment.
