The newly launched My Syria app serves as the country’s first integrated digital platform for tourism, hospitality, and payment services.

Developed by UAE-based Syrian startup 121 Living, the platform operates under the strategic supervision of the Syrian Ministry of Tourism. The launch coincides with a significant recovery in local tourism, with visitor arrivals more than doubling during the first half of 2026.

The platform connects travelers and residents with local hospitality and lifestyle services through a single digital gateway. Users can access eight distinct services, including hotel bookings, restaurant reservations, transport services, and food delivery through the mobile application.

Cross-Border Digital Payments

A major feature of the platform is its integrated payment infrastructure, which supports secure cross-border digital transactions.

The My Syria app is the first platform in the country to enable international visitors to pay using global payment methods. These methods include Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, allowing local businesses to participate in the growing digital economy.

Government and Private Sector Collaboration

During the official launch event in Damascus, Mazen Al-Salhani, Minister of Tourism, stated that digital transformation remains a strategic priority for building a competitive and connected tourism sector.

“Digital transformation is one of the Ministry’s strategic priorities because it enables us to build a more competitive, connected and investment-ready tourism sector.”

The launch comes amid strong growth in the local tourism sector during 2026. Visitor arrivals increased by 111% during the first half of the year, reaching 3.52 million compared to 1.67 million during the same period in 2025. This total includes Syrian expatriates, regional visitors, and international tourists, driving the demand for modern digital services.

Future Expansion Plans

The current release of the My Syria app represents the first phase of a broader digital strategy by 121 Living. The developers intend to introduce additional services and expand geographic coverage across more regions in the future. This expansion aligns with the Ministry of Tourism’s roadmap to use technology as a driver of investment and sustainable development.
