Nextpower Arabia will supply 2.25 gigawatts of advanced solar tracking systems to Larsen & Toubro for the Bisha Solar Project, marking a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia’s renewable energy expansion. The newly formed joint venture between Nextpower and Abunayyan Holding announced this landmark deal on January 28, 2026, supporting one of the largest utility-scale solar plants being developed by an ACWA Power-led consortium.
Located in the Asir Province, the Bisha Solar Project represents the largest initiative within Wave 6 of the Kingdom’s National Renewable Energy Program (NREP), overseen by the Ministry of Energy and procured by the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC). This project significantly advances Saudi Arabia’s long-term energy transition and decarbonization objectives while strengthening the Kingdom’s position as a regional leader in renewable energy deployment.
Localized Manufacturing Drives Efficiency
Through localized sales, manufacturing, delivery and supply chain capabilities, Nextpower Arabia will support the efficient deployment of utility-scale solar power plants. The joint venture, now fully operational, combines Nextpower’s global leadership in smart solar tracking systems with Abunayyan Holding’s deep regional expertise and infrastructure development capabilities. This localized approach reduces international shipping costs and impacts while delivering greater efficiencies throughout the development process.

Strategic Investment in Renewable Energy
Earlier in 2026, ACWA Power, in consortium with the Water and Electricity Holding Company (Badeel) and Saudi Aramco Power Company (SAPCO), committed to invest $8.3 billion to develop seven large-scale renewable energy plants. This investment will add approximately 15 GW of new renewable energy capacity to the Kingdom’s power grid, demonstrating the scale of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to clean energy transformation.

Regional Track Record and Future Outlook
Nextpower has established a strong track record in the MENA region, beginning with the 405 MW Sakaka Solar Park in Saudi Arabia in 2018. The company has now delivered more than 6 GW of solar tracking systems across the region. The Bisha Solar Project represents the first major project fulfilled through the Nextpower Arabia joint venture, positioning the company to accelerate utility-scale solar deployment while supporting workforce development and industrial advancement throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
