Reolink has launched its new Reolink security cameras in the Gulf region, designed specifically to withstand extreme summer temperatures.
The company made available the RP-PCB8M Smart 4K PoE Bullet Security Camera alongside the RP-PN16 24-Channel PoE Network Video Recorder (NVR) to address hardware failures caused by extreme heat in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. As the GCC smart home market grows, hardware reliability becomes critical.
Climate Challenges for Reolink security cameras
Standard consumer-grade hardware often fails when ambient temperatures exceed 45°C to 50°C, leading to degraded image quality or complete system failure. The introduction of these Reolink security cameras addresses a common issue where standard consumer-grade hardware fails due to high ambient temperatures.
The RP-PCB8M is rated for operating temperatures ranging from -30°C to +55°C, featuring an aluminum housing designed to dissipate heat more effectively than plastic alternatives. It also carries an IP67 weatherproof rating to protect against dust and sandstorms.

Technical Specifications of the RP-PCB8M
The RP-PCB8M records 4K Ultra HD video at 8MP and 25 frames per second, utilizing a 125-degree diagonal field of view. Its F1.6 aperture lens enables color night vision in low-light conditions, supported by infrared night vision up to 30 meters in complete darkness. The camera supports local storage via a microSD card up to 512GB, which can hold up to 145 hours of footage.
Additionally, the camera features built-in artificial intelligence capabilities. The system detects people, vehicles, and animals to reduce false alerts. Its perimeter protection suite includes line crossing, zone intrusion, and zone loitering alerts, alongside a beta feature for smart event detection that monitors forgotten or removed objects.
Enterprise AI Integration with the RP-PN16
The camera integrates with the RP-PN16, a 24-channel PoE NVR powered by the ReoNeura AI engine. This system delivers power and network connectivity through a single Ethernet cable using the IEEE 802.3 af/at standard. The NVR supports storage expansion up to 32TB across two SATA interfaces for continuous recording.
Users can search saved footage using plain-language keywords, such as searching for specific clothing colors or animals. The system also includes heat mapping technology to visualize foot traffic density, which serves as a business intelligence tool for retail environments. Up to 12 users can access the system simultaneously via PC, monitor, or mobile application, with all video files protected by encryption.

The launch comes as the Middle East and Africa video surveillance market reached USD 6.66 billion in 2025, with an annual growth rate of 12.2%. In Saudi Arabia, the home security systems market reached USD 708.9 million in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 1.5 billion by 2034.
