SADAFCO solar energy expansion takes a significant step forward as Saudia Dairy & Foodstuff Company partners with Yellow Door Energy to bring clean electricity to seven facilities across the Kingdom. The 2,900 kilowatt-peak solar project represents a major commitment to sustainable operations in Saudi Arabia’s food manufacturing sector.
Comprehensive Solar Installation Across Multiple Facilities
The SADAFCO solar energy project will deliver clean electricity to ice cream and milk factories in Jeddah, a tomato paste factory in Dammam, a regional distribution center in Riyadh, and three depots in Yanbu, Tabuk, and Makkah. Over 4,700 solar panels will be installed across 13 connection points to integrate with SADAFCO’s existing energy infrastructure.
Once operational, the solar system is expected to generate 4.9 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) in the first year, equivalent to reducing carbon emissions by 1,830 metric tons. Most notably, SADAFCO’s ice cream factory will be powered by 15% clean electricity.

Project Timeline and Implementation Details
Construction begins next month with completion expected before the end of 2026. Under the solar lease agreement, Yellow Door Energy handles financing, designing, constructing, commissioning, operating, and maintaining the solar power plants. This model enables SADAFCO to enjoy clean energy benefits without operational risk.
