SADAFCO has released its 2025 SADAFCO sustainability report, titled “Transforming Today, Impacting Tomorrow,” detailing progress across environmental action, social impact, and governance. The report is built on three strategic pillars: Preserving the Planet, Connecting Generations, and Doing Business the Right Way.
SADAFCO sustainability report highlights environmental progress
Under the Preserving the Planet pillar, SADAFCO improved its water consumption ratio by 33% compared to the 2022 baseline, conserving approximately 242 million liters of water. The company generated 2,141 MWh of solar power across its operations and plans to expand renewable energy through a Power Purchase Agreement model across seven additional sites by 2026, targeting 2.9 MW solar PV capacity and approximately 4.9 million kWh annual generation.
In fleet operations, SADAFCO reduced vehicle idling time by 40% compared to 2024. Despite a 6% increase in total distance traveled to 9.50 million kilometers, the company improved fleet fuel efficiency by 8% and reduced fleet-related emissions by 4.5%. SADAFCO is exploring electric and hydrogen trucks, aiming for a 33% clean-energy fleet by 2035.
Circular economy and decarbonization efforts
SADAFCO achieved a 96% recycling rate across its operations, generating approximately SAR 2.6 million in recycling revenue. Through its partnership with Maersk ECO Delivery Ocean, the company avoided approximately 855 tCO₂e emissions in shipping operations, supporting supply chain decarbonization.
Social and workforce achievements
Under the Connecting Generations pillar, SADAFCO reported a workforce of over 2,500 employees with a 38% Saudization rate. The company maintained strong safety performance with a Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate of 0.09 or less and zero workplace fatalities. It delivered 21,049 health, safety, security, and environment training hours. SADAFCO invested approximately SAR 2.2 million in CSR initiatives and contributed more than 1,052 volunteering hours.
Governance and assurance
Under Doing Business the Right Way, SADAFCO adopted ISO 37000:2021, an international standard for governance of organizations. The 2025 SADAFCO sustainability report underwent independent limited assurance by Intertek, covering Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions, selected Scope 3 categories, and key environmental and social disclosures.
