SAL Zones signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Advanced Aircraft Technology to develop specialized aviation logistics infrastructure supporting aerospace operations across Saudi Arabia. The agreement was finalized during the Saudi Warehousing & Logistics Expo 2026 held in Riyadh.
Strategic Partnership at Logistics Expo
SAL Zones, a subsidiary of SAL Logistics Services, focuses on building integrated logistics zones across the Kingdom. Through this partnership, the entity aims to combine its physical assets with the operational expertise of Advanced Aircraft Technology in the aviation sector.
The collaboration addresses the growing demand for specialized supply chain solutions in commercial and defense aviation. Both organizations stated that the initiative will support operational readiness and technical maintenance programs throughout the region.
Specialized Facilities and Technical Capabilities
The partnership covers the development of purpose-built facilities tailored to store aircraft spare parts, engines, tools, and sensitive aerospace equipment. These specialized operations require precise environmental controls, secure handling standards, and rapid retrieval mechanisms to maintain fleet readiness across operators.
In addition to storage, the framework explores comprehensive end-to-end cargo movement, including ground transport, regional distribution, and airport freight handling. The parties will also collaborate on customs-related support and re-export mechanisms to accelerate cross-border movements for the broader business ecosystem.
Expanding Aviation Logistics Infrastructure
Under the agreement, both parties are examining commercial investment and leasing opportunities across existing zones. Specifically, the entities are assessing the establishment of an integrated hub at the SAL Logistics Zone in Mulham to anchor technical operations and regional distribution workflows.
Developing modern aviation logistics infrastructure provides direct connectivity between industrial zones, cargo terminals, and maintenance workshops. Consequently, this integrated setup reduces transit times for critical aerospace components and minimizes aircraft turnaround delays during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance cycles.
Supporting National Logistics Goals
This initiative builds upon broader efforts by SAL Zones to establish an interconnected network of logistics parks capable of servicing high-value industrial segments. High-precision industries depend heavily on dependable supply channels and secure warehousing solutions to maintain regular operational tempos.
Furthermore, the collaboration directly supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transport and Logistics Strategy. By expanding local aerospace supply chains and upgrading technical warehousing capabilities, the project strengthens the competitive position of the national logistics network across the wider region.
