The Saudi Esports Academy, operating under the Saudi Esports Federation, has launched the Level Up program in collaboration with Vanguard to offer practical industry experience to graduates. Participants will work directly within the operational environment of the PRIME League to prepare for professional careers in the gaming sector.
Structure of the Two-Week Program
The practical initiative runs across two-week cycles for each participating cohort. During this period, candidates work directly alongside experienced specialists to gain first-hand exposure to live tournament workflows in gaming competitions.
Upon finishing the cohort requirements, every participant receives an individual evaluation detailing developmental feedback on their performance. In addition, successful graduates receive a joint certificate of completion awarded by the Saudi Esports Academy and Vanguard to formally recognize their participation.
Role of the Saudi Esports Academy
The project bridges formal instructional training with practical application in real competition settings. Through this arrangement, Vanguard supplies its operational background and industry expertise to guide trainees through live event execution and match management.
“At the Saudi Esports Federation, we believe that the journey of developing talent does not end with the completion of the Academy’s training programs. Rather, it marks the beginning of a new stage one that empowers graduates to apply their knowledge in professional working environments.”
Rawan Albutairi, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Esports Federation
Operations and Match Administration Tracks
The training curriculum features two distinct operational tracks: Operations Management and Refereeing. Trainees within these streams study match administration, tournament operations, regulatory enforcement, cross-functional coordination, and reporting procedures.
Furthermore, participants practice professional communication protocols required during competitive matches. These practical exercises help prepare participants to handle unexpected technical situations, adhere to tournament rulebooks, and manage high-pressure live broadcast environments.
Sector Expansion and Industry Background
The Saudi Esports Federation was established in late 2017 as the regulatory body overseeing competitive gaming in Saudi Arabia. The organisation operates two primary development streams, focusing on grassroots player development alongside broader business development across the local value chain.
By integrating academic preparation with practical field assignments, initiatives supported by the Saudi Esports Academy aim to build sustainable career paths for domestic talent. The collaboration with Vanguard highlights the federation’s commitment to equipping local specialists with operational capabilities needed across the expanding regional entertainment sector.
