The recent Saudia Astrova deployment marks the first time this in-flight entertainment system has flown on an Airbus A321XLR aircraft. Panasonic Avionics announced the launch on June 2, 2026. This program also introduces the Modular Interactive platform and Arc interactive map application to the airline’s fleet.
The Saudi Arabian flag carrier selected these digital solutions for 15 of its Airbus A321XLR aircraft. Consequently, this agreement expands on a previous commitment to install the technology across 46 other aircraft. Specifically, the retrofit program covers 15 Airbus A321, 12 Airbus A330, and 19 Boeing 777 aircraft.
Features of the Saudia Astrova Deployment
Passengers will experience 4K OLED HDR10+ screens and spatial audio powered by Bluetooth technology. In addition, each seat provides up to 67W of USB-C direct current power for fast charging. This power capacity allows travelers to charge mobile phones, tablets, and compatible laptops during all flight phases.
Customization and Interactive Mapping
The Modular Interactive platform offers enterprise tools to customize the seatback interface. Meanwhile, the airline can use the design tool to deploy seasonal updates, promotional campaigns, and loyalty application features.
