The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque launched smart interactive maps on February 25, 2026. The service provides real-time information and updated routes for visitors and Umrah performers. It supports safe mobility within the Two Holy Mosques.

Launch Details

CEO Eng. Ghazi Al-Shahrani stated that the smart interactive maps offer location-based guidance. The maps connect to operations rooms for live data. This setup directs visitors to suitable routes during congestion or closures.

Director of Business Solutions Eng. Waheeb Al-Mutrafi noted that the maps handle location-based reports. They speed access to electric carts using ticket numbers. A smart platform uses verified field data from several months.

Smart Interactive Maps Features

The system includes over 950 points of interest across 13 service categories. It features more than 650 QR codes. The technology generates over 100,000 dynamic paths, optimized automatically based on crowd movement.

The pilot phase integrated with the color coding and metric addressing system. This divides the mosques into clear geographic zones for smart operations. The launch occurred with Deputy CEO for Digital Transformation Dr. Mohammed Al-Saqr present.
