Surface Laptop Ultra has been officially introduced by Microsoft as the company’s most powerful portable computers to date.

Specifically, the device is designed for creators, developers, and artificial intelligence builders who require high-performance local computing.

Meanwhile, the hardware represents a collaboration between Windows, Surface, and NVIDIA.

Hardware Specifications and Performance

This device is the first laptop from the company to combine an NVIDIA Blackwell RTX GPU with up to 128GB of unified memory.

Consequently, the unified memory pool can be dynamically allocated across the CPU and GPU based on active workloads.

Furthermore, the system delivers 1 petaflop of artificial intelligence compute, which allows users to run models with up to 120 billion parameters locally.

This capability is designed to support simultaneous 3D rendering and multi-model workflows.

Display and Design of the Surface Laptop Ultra

A 15-inch mini-LED PixelSense Ultra touchscreen display is integrated into the Surface Laptop Ultra.

Notably, this screen offers up to 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness, 262 pixels per inch, and high-precision color accuracy.

In addition, the chassis is available in two distinct finishes, which are named Platinum and Nightfall.

Connectivity and Input Features

The device includes the largest haptic touchpad ever integrated into a Surface product.

Moreover, the physical ports on the chassis include HDMI, USB-C, USB-A, an SD card slot, and a headphone jack.

As a result, users can connect external peripherals and run professional apps without requiring additional adapters.

The engineering team prioritized these specific ports to meet the direct needs of creative professionals.

Market Availability and Regulatory Status

Microsoft stated that the Surface Laptop Ultra will be available for purchase later this year.

However, the product is currently in a pre-release phase, meaning features remain subject to change before the final launch.
