The Syrian tech sector is participating for the first time in the LEAP 2026 conference and exhibition in Riyadh. Held from August 31 to September 3, the event hosts a dedicated national pavilion led by Syria’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The initiative aims to connect local enterprises with regional investors and establish new commercial partnerships across key digital industries.
Delegation Structure and Startups
The official delegation brings together several key entities from the country. Participants include the Telecommunication and Post Regulatory Authority, the Syrian Sovereign Fund, and national telecommunications operators. In addition, two technology community organizations and seven startups representing various fields are taking part in the exhibition at booth H3.G190 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.
These participating startups cover diverse areas within technology, seeking opportunities to showcase their products to international attendees, potential commercial clients, and industry peers attending the four-day gathering.
Syrian Tech Sector Investment Goals
This initiative focuses on expanding telecom infrastructure and accelerating digital transformation programs. Furthermore, the presence at the event aims to link emerging companies directly with Saudi and regional venture capital funds. Representatives also seek to build connections with Syrian technical talent already working within Saudi companies to support cross-border collaboration in the economy.

Minister Haykal noted that Saudi investments in Syrian communications are expanding, specifically citing the Silk Link project currently underway. In addition, the ministry plans to encourage Saudi enterprises to participate in digital transformation programs and support venture funding for local software and apps development.
Through these bilateral engagements, the delegation seeks to lay the groundwork for long-term cooperative frameworks in the digital domain, exploring strategic investments that advance regional telecommunications networks and shared economic interests.
Meetings and Future Outlook
During the four-day event, delegates will meet with enterprise leaders and investment funds to discuss infrastructure projects. As a result, the Syrian tech sector aims to use these discussions to facilitate market entry into Saudi Arabia and the wider region, establishing lasting ties with regional innovation ecosystems.
