Financial infrastructure provider Tarabut has secured a Tarabut strategic financing round of $50 million (SAR 187 million) to accelerate embedded finance operations across Saudi Arabia.
The financing round saw broad participation from major Saudi financial institutions and family business groups. Backers include Riyad Bank, the X-Tech Fund managed by SAB Invest, GIB Saudi Arabia, Zamil Group, and Kanoo Ventures, which is part of Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Group.
Details of Tarabut Strategic Financing
The company will use the capital to build end-to-end embedded finance journeys covering verification, decision-making, and credit disbursement. To date, Tarabut has processed more than 5 billion API calls across the Gulf region, connecting commercial lenders, distributors, and consumers on a unified regulated platform.
The platform focuses primarily on the Saudi market, which serves as the largest financial center in the region. Consequently, the new funding allows partner institutions to deploy branded lending solutions directly at the point of transaction.
Resolving SME Underwriting Bottlenecks
A major focus of the platform involves solving lending friction for small and medium-sized enterprises. Traditional banking models often depend on historical paperwork, forcing businesses to wait weeks for credit evaluations.
Tarabut replaces static documentation with real-time visibility into cash flows and financial behaviour. In addition, this mechanism reduces credit distribution timelines from several weeks to the exact moment a business requires funding.
“The institutions backing Tarabut are the institutions that run on our infrastructure. We built a regulated platform across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, and this financing will allow us to take everything we have proven across the region and go deeper where it matters most: Saudi Arabia.”
Abdulla Almoayed, Founder and CEO of Tarabut
Supporting National Financial Goals
Beyond enterprise lending, the infrastructure allows financial institutions to evaluate consumer demographics that lack traditional credit histories. This capability directly supports the broader financial inclusion targets established under the Saudi Vision 2030 Financial Sector Development Program.
“Our participation in Tarabut’s strategic financing reflects our confidence in its capabilities and its commitment to deepen its presence in the Kingdom. By enabling financial institutions to better understand and serve creditworthy SMEs, Tarabut can contribute meaningfully to private-sector growth.”
Abdulrahman Alzamil, President of Zamil Investments
Regulatory Review and Future Outlook
The transaction remains subject to official regulatory clearances, including required approvals from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA). Management indicated that this Tarabut strategic financing will facilitate new product announcements and software integrations over the coming months.
