OMODA & JAECOO has highlighted its new VPD parking technology to address urban driving challenges in the United Arab Emirates. This driverless self-parking system was demonstrated during the Beijing Auto Show and the Chery International Business Summit. Consequently, the brand aims to integrate this system into its upcoming vehicle lineup to enhance convenience and comfort for urban drivers.
Features of the VPD parking technology
The brand designed the VPD parking technology to simplify parking in crowded commercial areas. Specifically, the system includes features like “Come When Called” and “Leave When Waved” to allow autonomous vehicle retrieval. As a result, drivers can summon their vehicles to designated pickup points using smart technology.
Autonomous Operation in Urban Environments
This system is particularly useful during high summer temperatures across the Gulf region. Drivers can remain indoors in air-conditioned environments while the vehicle parks itself or navigates autonomously to a designated pickup location. Furthermore, the technology aims to reduce parking-related stress during crowded events, busy mall visits, and peak traffic hours.
Integration with Artificial Intelligence
In addition to parking systems, the manufacturer is developing a broader artificial intelligence ecosystem. Notably, this includes the AiMOGA Robotics technology shown at the Beijing Auto Show. The brand is also working on intelligent cockpit technologies, advanced driver assistance systems, and next-generation smart connectivity solutions.
“VPD represents the next step in our intelligent mobility ecosystem and reflects OMODA & JAECOO’s commitment to bringing advanced innovation and practical convenience to everyday driving experiences.”
Shawn Xu, Chief Executive Officer of OMODA & JAECOO Automobile International
Market Growth and Sales Milestones
The introduction of the VPD parking technology coincides with rapid commercial growth for the brand. Specifically, OMODA & JAECOO surpassed one million global cumulative vehicle sales within three years of operation. Meanwhile, the company crossed the 5,000 vehicle sales milestone in the UAE while expanding its retail footprint.
Future Outlook for Smart Mobility
The automotive brand plans to continue strengthening its retail and aftersales footprint across the UAE. Meanwhile, the integration of autonomous systems remains a key focus for its future product development. Consequently, these technologies will support the growing shift toward smart city ecosystems in the region.
