The Agent Command Center displays every running agent in a single Kanban view, organized by status. This design shift reflects how engineering work has evolved. As agents become more capable, engineers transition from writing code to directing work, requiring visibility into what each agent is working on, what tasks are blocked, and what is ready for review.

How the Agent Command Center Works

The interface integrates deeply with existing Windsurf editor features, allowing engineers to make final edits manually when needed. The command center does not replace the IDE; instead, it complements the hands-on coding environment. Engineers can switch between directing agent work and direct code editing within the same workspace.

Windsurf Spaces organize work within the Agent Command Center. A Space groups everything related to a specific task or project into a single view: agent sessions, pull requests, files, and context. When creating a new session in a space, it inherits all existing project knowledge. This means switching between spaces is equivalent to switching between tasks, with each task having a team of agents working inside it.

Devin Integration in Windsurf 2.0

Windsurf 2.0 brings Devin, an autonomous cloud agent, directly into the editor. Devin handles complex tasks end to end, including debugging, deployment, and testing. The agent runs on its own virtual machine with a desktop, browser, and computer use capabilities, allowing it to continue working after engineers close their laptops.

Engineers can delegate work to Devin with a single click, sending plans from local agents to the cloud for implementation. While Devin works independently, engineers can continue coding locally or step away entirely. When Devin opens a pull request, engineers review it directly in Windsurf, check diffs, run tests, or hand it off to local agents for refinements.

Unified Software Engineering Workflow

The update consolidates the entire software engineering cycle into one place. Planning, delegating, and reviewing now occur within a single interface. Devin is included with every Windsurf plan, with cloud access rolling out gradually. Engineers experiencing access delays can log out and log back in to refresh their account status.
