The adoption of WPS Office Arabic software has increased among university students in Oman due to its formatting capabilities and integrated tools.
A delegation of faculty and students from Oman’s University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) recently visited the Kingsoft Office headquarters in Zhuhai, China, on July 28, 2026. The visit highlighted the growing reliance on the software suite in Middle Eastern higher education institutions, where bilingual document formatting often presents technical challenges for students switching between Arabic and English text.
Academic Delegation Visits Zhuhai Headquarters
During the visit, UTAS representatives met with Kingsoft Office executives to discuss technical challenges and future collaborations. Students from the university noted that traditional office suites often disrupt document margins and text direction when combining multiple languages. The Chinese software developer has addressed these issues by optimizing right-to-left text flow and alignment options.
The delegation’s visit served as a platform to discuss direct academic partnerships. Kingsoft Office and UTAS explored plans to co-develop future software updates, establish artificial intelligence internships, and support joint senior-thesis projects for Omani students in China.
Enhancing Productivity with WPS Office Arabic
Students noted that **WPS Office Arabic** features, such as right-to-left formatting and translation tools, help them complete assignments faster. Nasser Almandhari, a UTAS student, highlighted the efficiency of the built-in translation tool over general external applications.

Expanding Educational and AI Partnerships

The software’s regional expansion has also attracted diplomatic attention. Hussain Alhammadi, the United Arab Emirates’ ambassador to China, discussed potential deployments of the WPS 365 suite within UAE government agencies. The discussions also covered training initiatives for young technological talent in partnership with local universities.
Globally, Kingsoft Office reports that its software is now utilized in more than 220 countries and regions. In Indonesia, the company’s tablet application, WPS for Pad, recently secured the top position on the App Store’s free productivity and business charts, indicating steady international growth.
