The Gazoo Racing World Rally Team secured a double podium finish at the Acropolis Rally Greece on July 1, 2026. Sébastien Ogier and co-driver Vincent Landais won the event in the No. 1 Toyota GR YARIS Rally1. Meanwhile, teammates Takamoto Katsuta and Aaron Johnston finished third in the No. 18 vehicle.
This double podium finish extended Toyota’s lead in the FIA World Rally Championship manufacturers’ standings to 140 points. Specifically, the victory marked Ogier’s 69th career win in the championship. Notably, this was also his second career victory at this specific Greek event.

Challenging Mountain Conditions
The event took place on rocky mountain roads in central Greece. Temperatures exceeded 30 degrees Celsius during the competition. Consequently, these rough terrains placed constant pressure on the vehicles, tyres, and crews.
Strategic Road Positions
The team started among the first five cars on the road due to their championship positions. As a result, they had to clear a racing line through loose gravel. However, Ogier and Landais finished the opening day within 10 seconds of the lead.
The pair moved into the lead on the final day. Furthermore, they topped both the Power Stage and Super Sunday classifications. They secured the overall victory by 58.3 seconds, earning 35 points.
Toyota Dominates Acropolis Rally Greece
Katsuta and Johnston climbed from ninth place to finish third overall. They avoided major trouble on the opening day despite running second on the road. This performance completed the double podium for the Japanese manufacturer at the **Acropolis Rally Greece**.
Championship Standings and Next Round
Following the **Acropolis Rally Greece**, Toyota drivers occupy the top five positions in the drivers’ standings. Elfyn Evans leads the championship, followed by Katsuta, Ogier, Sami Pajari, and Oliver Solberg.
The ninth round of the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship will be Rally Estonia. This event is scheduled for July 17 to 19 on fast gravel stages. The soft and sandy surfaces are expected to become heavily rutted during the second pass.
