The technology company stated that attackers now weaponize software flaws within hours rather than weeks. Consequently, organizations must transition from periodic security projects to continuous protection models to secure their digital assets.

Many enterprises remain vulnerable because they rely on legacy infrastructure designed for human response speeds. According to data from Cisco Talos, organizations can take up to 43 days to patch critical vulnerabilities. Furthermore, approximately 40% of the most targeted security flaws affect systems that have limited patching options. This gap highlights the necessity of integrating modern cybersecurity measures into daily operations.

The Shrinking Threat Window

The rapid development of artificial intelligence tools allows attackers to identify vulnerabilities and generate exploits much faster than before. In some instances, the time between the public disclosure of a flaw and its active exploitation has decreased to just hours. As a result, traditional reactive defense methods are no longer sufficient to protect corporate networks.

This project covered more than 25 programming languages and was completed in eight weeks. The company estimates that the same task would have required eight years to complete using traditional human analysis.

The company outlined three practical shifts to help organizations achieve continuous resilience. First, businesses must make remediation a predictable, continuous operating rhythm rather than an emergency drill. Second, organizations should use modernization to retire unsupported assets and remove risks that patching cannot resolve. Finally, defenders must segment environments to contain attacks and close identity gaps.

To assist executives in taking immediate action, the company provided a detailed guide summarizing five key actions for the next 90 days. These steps aim to help organizations transition to a proactive AI Cyber Defense posture. By prioritizing these actions, leaders can systematically reduce exposure and build long-term digital trust.
