The Saudi-based Al-Zahed Group selected the Snowflake data platform to manage its corporate data and artificial intelligence initiatives.
This selection establishes a multi-year agreement to centralize data operations across the company’s diverse business sectors. According to a report by جريدة البلاد السعودية, the project aims to improve operational efficiency and support digital growth.
Centralizing Corporate Data Operations
The digital solutions team within the organization will work with the cloud provider to consolidate information from various departments. Consequently, this centralized platform will operate under strict corporate security and governance standards. The new system replaces several disconnected databases that previously required manual efforts to aggregate and analyze.
Initial results from the integration show a reduction in the time required to prepare month-end financial reports. Specifically, the process that previously took several days now requires only hours or minutes. This change allows company leaders to access business intelligence reports much faster than before.
Digital Growth for Al-Zahed Group
The company plans to integrate the platform with its existing core systems, including Infor and Salesforce. This integration follows a successful pilot project called Caterpillar Helios, which demonstrated secure data sharing capabilities. Furthermore, the Al-Zahed Group intends to expand the platform’s use to all of its subsidiary companies.
This expansion will introduce governed data products and advanced analytics to more business functions. As a result, the company expects to improve decision-making processes and enhance customer experiences. The transition aligns with the broader digital transformation goals of the region.
Implementing Artificial Intelligence Tools
In the next phase of the project, the company will deploy Snowflake Cortex AI technologies. This tool will allow employees to query corporate databases using natural language instead of complex technical commands. Consequently, non-technical staff can retrieve necessary information quickly to make faster business decisions.
Susan Sadiq, IT Director at Al-Zahed Group, stated that data is a valuable asset in the digital economy. She said the company is establishing a reliable data foundation to support AI-driven innovation and accelerate decision-making. This shift supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to build a data-driven economy.
Context of the Saudi Tech Sector
This technological adoption occurs as Saudi Arabia accelerates its digital infrastructure development. Notably, the Saudi Cabinet approved designating 2026 as the Year of Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, industry estimates suggest that AI could contribute 12.4% to the country’s gross domestic product by 2030.
Michel Nader, Managing Director for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa at Snowflake, stated that reliable data is essential for enterprise AI adoption. He said the platform brings data closer to users while providing AI capabilities to support the group’s digital journey.
The Saudi private company operates across multiple sectors, including heavy equipment, power, transport, and manufacturing. It employs more than 7,300 people from 102 nationalities and has operations in 33 countries.
