AMD and Saudi PIF-backed HUMAIN have launched a $10 billion AI infrastructure venture to establish advanced computing platforms across Saudi Arabia and the United States. According to a report by Zawya, the cross-border initiative will deploy up to 500 megawatts of computing capacity over the next five years.
The joint project aims to build an open, scalable computing environment designed to support enterprise, startup, and sovereign computing workloads globally. Furthermore, the collaboration intends to expand direct access to high-performance hardware for developers and institutions across multiple economic sectors.
Scope of the AI Infrastructure Venture
Under the operational terms of the AI infrastructure venture, HUMAIN will manage the physical delivery of facilities, including hyperscale data centers, sustainable energy systems, and global optical interconnects. Meanwhile, AMD will supply its full hardware stack and open-source computing software.

Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN, stated that the arrangement focuses on opening access at the compute layer, allowing organizations to run advanced models without facing infrastructure bottlenecks.
Hardware Architecture and Software Support
The computing architecture incorporates AMD Instinct graphics processing units alongside energy-efficient AMD EPYC central processors. In addition, developers will utilize the AMD ROCm open software environment to deploy machine learning workloads directly onto the hardware stack.
This hardware combination delivers high computational throughput while managing data center power requirements. Consequently, the technical setup provides stable performance for training generative models and operating real-time inference tasks at scale.
Turnkey AI Deployment for Commercial Enterprises
The partners also announced an AI in a Box solution designed specifically for businesses operating in Saudi Arabia. This turnkey platform enables organizations to test and launch machine learning tools without requiring immediate access to hyperscale facilities.
Specifically, the solution targets operational use cases across financial services, manufacturing, and the oil and gas sector. As a result, participating firms can deploy initial computational workloads, evaluate commercial value, and gradually scale their technical capacity as operational demands expand.
Long-Term Targets and Expansion Through 2030
Beyond the initial 500MW rollout, AMD and HUMAIN plan to collaborate with Cisco through a separate joint initiative to establish up to 1 gigawatt of total capacity in Saudi Arabia by 2030. This expansion supports the national digital transformation roadmap by securing domestic computing assets.
These strategic deployments support the growing domestic demand for computing hardware and telecommunications connectivity. By securing physical capacity in both regions, the initiative establishes a connected network of computational centers that serve international markets.
