Apple has introduced its next generation of Apple Intelligence features to integrate artificial intelligence across its hardware platforms.
The company announced the updates on June 8, 2026, during its latest developer event. These tools will become available to users this fall.
The updated system uses new foundation models to assist users with daily tasks. Specifically, the technology runs on-device and through secure cloud servers to process user requests. This setup aims to protect user privacy while delivering advanced computing capabilities.
New Apple Intelligence features for Photos and Safari
In the Photos app, users can use Spatial Reframing to adjust the composition of an image after taking it. This tool shifts the perspective of a photo in real time. Meanwhile, the new Extend tool allows users to expand image borders and straighten crooked horizons.
Safari receives tools to organize multiple browser tabs into specific topics automatically. Additionally, a new Notify Me option alerts users when monitored web pages change. Users can also build custom browser extensions by writing simple text descriptions.
System Updates and Communication Tools
The update introduces Siri AI, which is a more conversational version of the virtual assistant. Siri can now search for information across messages, emails, and photos. It also takes actions inside various applications on behalf of the user.
The Messages app now provides one-tap suggestions based on active conversations. For example, it can automatically create reminders or locate specific photos from the library. Furthermore, the Phone app introduces Call Context to display confirmation codes during business calls.
Privacy Architecture and Google Collaboration
Apple built these Apple Intelligence features in collaboration with Google, utilizing its Gemini models. The system processes data locally or via Private Cloud Compute servers. Consequently, Apple states that personal data is never stored or made accessible to third parties.

Device Compatibility and Release Schedule
Developer testing for these Apple Intelligence features begins today, with a public beta scheduled for next month. The final software will launch this fall with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27.
Supported hardware includes iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPad models with M1 chips or later. However, Siri AI will not be available initially in the European Union or China.
