Studio Display XDR, Apple’s new professional monitor, launched on March 3, 2026, alongside an updated Studio Display, targeting users from everyday Mac owners to professional creatives. The Studio Display XDR starts at SAR 14,999 in Saudi Arabia and replaces the Pro Display XDR. Pre-orders open March 4, with units shipping from March 11.
Studio Display XDR: Specifications and Display Technology
The Studio Display XDR features a 27-inch 5K Retina XDR panel with a 5120-by-2880 resolution. Its mini-LED backlight uses 2,304 local dimming zones, delivering a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The display reaches 1,000 nits of SDR brightness and 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness, making it suitable for HDR video editing and 3D rendering workflows.
Color Accuracy and Refresh Rate
Studio Display XDR supports both P3 wide color and Adobe RGB gamuts from a single default preset. This configuration covers more than 80 percent of the Rec. 2020 color space, benefiting color grading and print production. The display also runs at a 120Hz refresh rate, with Adaptive Sync supporting a variable range between 47Hz and 120Hz for smoother video playback and lower gaming latency.
Camera, Audio, and Connectivity
Both displays include a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View support, a three-microphone array with directional beamforming, and a six-speaker system with Spatial Audio. The Studio Display XDR provides two Thunderbolt 5 ports and two USB-C ports, functioning as a Thunderbolt hub. The included Thunderbolt 5 Pro cable delivers up to 140W of charging power, sufficient to fast-charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro. The standard Studio Display offers up to 96W of charging through its Thunderbolt 5 Pro cable, enough for a 14-inch MacBook Pro.

Studio Display: Updated Features and Pricing
The updated Studio Display retains its 27-inch 5K Retina panel with 600 nits of brightness and P3 wide color. It now includes a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View, Thunderbolt 5 connectivity with two ports, and two USB-C ports. Users can daisy-chain up to four Studio Display units for a combined pixel count of nearly 60 million. The display starts at SAR 7,299, or SAR 6,799 for education customers in Saudi Arabia.
Pricing, Availability, and Environmental Notes
The Studio Display XDR starts at SAR 14,999, or SAR 14,499 for education. Both displays are available with standard or nano-texture glass and multiple stand configurations. Apple stated both products use 100 percent recycled aluminum in their stands and 80 percent recycled glass in the standard glass option. The company said the packaging is 100 percent fiber-based and designed for easy recycling, as part of its goal to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire footprint by 2030. Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad is priced at SAR 899, Magic Trackpad at SAR 649, and Magic Mouse starting at SAR 369.
