Arriyadh Roaster has selected the Plex manufacturing platform to manage its coffee production operations across Saudi Arabia.

The specialty coffee roaster, which supplies major coffee chains nationwide, adopted the cloud-based system to improve operational visibility and coordinate shop-floor processes. Meanwhile, the deployment aims to support the company’s expanding production lines.

Integrating the Plex manufacturing platform

The implementation of the Plex manufacturing platform will connect work-in-progress tracking, inventory movement, and quality management into a single digital system. Consequently, operators and managers will receive immediate data-driven insights from the production floor. In addition, the system helps maintain consistency and traceability as the company adds new manufacturing lines.

To ensure a unified data flow, local system integrator GulfNet Solutions Company Limited (GNS) developed a custom middleware layer. This software connects the manufacturing execution system with the roaster’s existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. As a result, the company establishes a single source of truth for its business and operational data.

Supporting Industrial Modernization in Saudi Arabia

This project represents one of the first partner-led deployments of the technology within the Kingdom. Notably, the initiative aligns with national efforts under Saudi Vision 2030 to modernize local industrial capabilities. By adopting advanced apps & software, local manufacturers are building stronger operational resilience.

Furthermore, GulfNet Solutions Company Limited, a silver-level partner in Rockwell’s partner network, provided the local technical expertise for the integration. This collaboration highlights the growing capability of local IT firms to deliver complex industrial automation projects. Consequently, Saudi enterprises can access global technology solutions through regional partners.

Tom Forster, regional vice president of enterprise software sales for EMEA at Rockwell Automation, commented on the strategic decision.

“One of the key reasons they selected Plex was its ability to deliver real-time, actionable visibility across their shop floor. This will help the company make faster, better decisions as they introduce new products, add capacity and continue expanding their footprint.”

Enhancing Operational Control and Flexibility

The cloud-native platform unifies operational technology and information technology to simplify factory management. Furthermore, this modular approach allows the coffee producer to scale its manufacturing capabilities as demand grows. Specifically, the system provides the digital foundation needed to manage rapid product expansion.

Hassan Sharrofna, general manager of Arriyadh Roaster, stated that the system supports their long-term planning.

“Plex gives us a modern, integrated platform that enhances operational visibility, supports better planning and ensures consistency across all our production lines. With real-time insight and stronger control over our processes, we are well positioned to scale confidently.”

Future Outlook for Local Manufacturing

As the specialty coffee market expands, local producers are increasingly turning to digital solutions to maintain quality control. The integration of the Plex manufacturing platform represents a shift toward automated, data-driven production in the regional food and beverage sector. Consequently, other local enterprises may follow this model to upgrade their facilities.

Ultimately, the collaboration between Rockwell Automation, GNS, and Arriyadh Roaster highlights the growing role of local expertise in technology deployment. By utilizing regional integrators, Saudi businesses can implement complex software solutions tailored to their specific operational needs. This approach ensures long-term technical support and continuous operational improvement.
