A Bluetooth speakers world record fell on March 29, 2025, when Majority Audio and Cambridge United Women’s Football Club (CUWFC) coordinated hundreds of supporters at the Cledara Abbey Stadium in Cambridge, UK, to play Majority Move WR speakers simultaneously from a single audio source.
The attempt took place during the half-time break of a match against London Bees. Supporters collected Majority Move WR smart devices upon arrival and activated them in unison, surpassing the previous record of 1,000 speakers held by JBL since 2017.
How Auracast Technology Enabled the Bluetooth Speakers World Record
The coordinated playback relied on Auracast, a Bluetooth LE Audio feature that broadcasts a single audio signal to multiple nearby speakers or headphones simultaneously. Majority integrated Auracast into the Move WR, the newest addition to its Move speaker range, which is set to launch in May priced at £39.99.
Auracast is suited to public venues and large events because one broadcast source can reach many listener devices at once. Moreover, Guinness World Records guidelines required that no speaker connect to an alternative audio source during the attempt, adding a technical layer to the organisation effort.
Guinness World Records Adjudicator Confirms the Achievement
Glenn Pollard, the Guinness World Records adjudicator present at the event, said the attempt presented more complexity than initially expected. He noted that ensuring speakers did not connect to alternative sound sources was a significant technical hurdle.
“When I first heard about this record, I assumed it would be simple. As it turned out there were many technical hurdles to overcome, not least the issue of ensuring the speakers did not connect to an alternative sound source as dictated by the GWR Guidelines. I have been impressed with the excellent level of planning and organisation displayed by Eddie and his team in achieving this record.”

Community Turnout Sets Attendance Record at Cledara Abbey Stadium
The event drew a record attendance for a Cambridge United Women’s game. Families, local schools, and members of the Cambridge community participated in the attempt. Each participant received a Majority Move WR speaker to keep as a thank-you for taking part.
