The new smart devices compatible Victrola Wave turntable has launched in a walnut finish, introducing wireless and wired connectivity options for vinyl playback. This release from audio manufacturer Victrola integrates modern wireless standards with traditional analogue components. The system is designed to connect with both legacy audio equipment and modern wireless receivers.
Design and Cartridge Specifications
Built on a low-resonance medium-density fibreboard (MDF) plinth, the Victrola Wave turntable is engineered to reduce vibrations during playback. It features an aluminium platter, a silicone anti-vibration slipmat, and a lightweight aluminium tonearm with an adjustable counterweight. For the walnut finish, the turntable comes equipped with an Ortofon OM 5E moving magnet cartridge. A removable headshell allows users to upgrade the cartridge in the future.
Wireless Audio with the Victrola Wave turntable
A primary feature of the Victrola Wave turntable is its integration of Auracast broadcast audio. This technology allows the turntable to stream audio to an unlimited number of compatible Auracast-enabled speakers and headphones simultaneously. Furthermore, the device supports Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX Adaptive and aptX HD codecs, which provides low-latency wireless transmission to compatible wireless receivers.
Wired Connectivity and System Integration
For traditional wired setups, the turntable includes a built-in switchable phono preamplifier and standard RCA outputs. This allows direct connection to powered speakers or traditional high-fidelity amplifiers. Additionally, the turntable features a Bluetooth input mode, enabling users to stream digital music from smartphones through the connected audio system. Front-mounted controls allow users to select between 33⅓ and 45 RPM playback speeds.
Pricing, Availability, and Special Editions
To complement the release, the company offers the Victrola Tempo Bluetooth bookshelf speakers in the matching walnut finish. This creates a matching system that combines design with wireless flexibility for home entertainment. In addition to the standard model, a limited-edition version has been introduced in collaboration with Third Man Records in the United States. This special edition features the record label’s signature yellow and black design with custom branding. However, it maintains the same technical specifications as the standard model.
The turntable is currently available for purchase. The retail price is set at $499 in the United States, £349 in the United Kingdom, and €399 in Europe. The package includes a removable dust cover to protect the components when not in use.
