Global communications agency Burson acquires Limbik, a cognitive artificial intelligence company, to bring its predictive intelligence platform in-house. The transaction, announced on August 16, 2026, integrates Limbik’s proprietary technology directly into Burson’s service offerings. This acquisition aims to help clients manage reputation and stakeholder trust in a complex information environment.
The acquisition brings Limbik’s cognitive AI capabilities, engineering team, and AI research team fully in-house. Consequently, Burson plans to accelerate product integration and development across its innovation suite. This integration allows the agency to distribute the capabilities of the Decipher platform across the WPP network via WPP Open.
Integration of Decipher Platform
Decipher, which was co-developed by both companies over the past two years, forecasts how communications resonate with global audiences. Specifically, the platform operates in more than 60 markets globally to predict the virality and believability of messaging. This predictive engine determines the impact of communications before they reach the market.
The technology serves as the core engine behind Burson’s AI-enabled network. It powers the agency’s work across various specialized offerings, including generative engine optimization (GEO), Reputation Capital, Culture Up, and influencer strategy. Other products in Burson’s suite include Sonar and The Fount.
Burson acquires Limbik for Proprietary IP
By securing this transaction, the agency establishes a permanent innovation arm within its organization. The announcement that Burson acquires Limbik represents a strategic shift toward owning its technology roadmap. This setup allows the firm to continuously generate, test, and integrate new artificial intelligence products across its global network.
Corey duBrowa, CEO of Burson, stated that Decipher has become foundational to how the agency helps clients build and protect their reputation. He noted that bringing Limbik’s team and technology on board allows the agency to build solutions faster. Furthermore, he emphasized that this technology is integrated into every piece of client work.

Leadership Transitions and Team Integration
As part of the agreement, Limbik co-founders Zach Schwitzky and Josh Levin will join Burson in global leadership roles. Schwitzky will serve as Global Head of Innovation, AI Platforms and Products. Meanwhile, Levin will take the role of Global Head of Innovation, Clients & Growth, reporting to Chad Latz, Global Chief Innovation Officer at Burson.
The broader Limbik team will join Burson’s existing innovation department. This combined team will focus on expanding AI advisory services and product capabilities across the entire agency. Zach Schwitzky stated that Limbik set out to build the AI infrastructure that influential agencies run on to protect reputation at scale.
Predictive Capabilities and Market Reach
Limbik is a cognitive-AI company specializing in predictive modeling and synthetic audience simulation. The company’s technology helps communicators anticipate emerging risks and pressure-test strategies before public release. Its operations span the United States, Canada, and the European Union.
This acquisition aligns with broader trends in the digital economy, where agencies increasingly adopt proprietary technology. By integrating these cognitive tools, Burson aims to provide faster answers and sharper judgment for its clients. The transaction positions the agency to lead technological changes in the global communications sector.
