The second CHANGAN Service Skills Competition recently concluded its national qualifying rounds across four key markets in the Middle East and Africa. This event drew approximately 60 service professionals from more than 40 authorized outlets across Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, and Oman. Top performers from these national rounds will now advance to the regional final.
The national competitions evaluated contestants across three primary categories, specifically Service Advisor, ICE Technician, and NEV Technician. Notably, the assessments included theoretical examinations and practical evaluations to test professional knowledge, fault diagnosis capabilities, and standard operating procedures. These categories reflect the growing integration of advanced automotive technologies in regional service networks. Furthermore, the inclusion of NEV training aligns with the regional shift toward electric mobility.
Regional Participation and Scale
Saudi Arabia hosted the largest national competition under the CHANGAN Service Skills Competition framework, attracting over 30 contestants from more than 20 outlets to support the local economy and service sector. The Saudi event featured a dedicated spare parts competition alongside a capability enhancement program. Meanwhile, Kuwait, Egypt, and Oman welcomed 12, 6, and 9 participants respectively to their standalone national contests.
Technical Standards and Evaluation
The competition framework established unified standards across all participating markets to ensure consistent service quality. In addition, Oman structured its national contest as a full-scale simulation of the upcoming regional final. This approach allowed technicians to experience the exact competitive conditions they will face in the next stage of the event. Consequently, participants had to demonstrate high efficiency under strict time constraints.
Strategic Value of the CHANGAN Service Skills Competition
Changan Automobile has maintained a market presence of over 40 years, establishing itself as a major Chinese brand in the region. The company stated that the CHANGAN Service Skills Competition serves as a strategic platform for advancing localized aftersales education and talent development. Furthermore, the initiative aims to build a reliable service support system to improve customer experience across the Middle East and Africa.
Future Outlook for Regional Finals
The top performers from the national rounds are scheduled to compete in the regional final in Oman. This final round will serve as a knowledge exchange platform to share best practices across the entire service network. Consequently, the company plans to continue refining its local technical teams to support regional customer service standards. These efforts are expected to strengthen the brand’s long-term customer trust in the regional market.
