The upcoming launch of CHERY in Saudi Arabia during the fourth quarter of 2026 will introduce the CHERY SIVP technology to local drivers.
This system, officially known as Super Intelligent Valet Parking, aims to address daily parking challenges faced by families in the Gulf region. Specifically, the system operates under two primary scenarios called “One Step Home” and “One Tap Departure” to assist users in high temperatures.
When returning home, drivers can use a mobile application to activate autonomous parking within designated areas. The vehicle then identifies an available space, plans its route, and parks itself. Conversely, the departure feature allows users to summon the vehicle to a shaded waiting area, reducing the need to walk in extreme heat. This function is designed to assist families with children, shoppers carrying bags, and elderly passengers. The integration of these features represents a shift in how smart devices connect with modern vehicles.
How the CHERY SIVP technology Works
To operate safely, the CHERY SIVP technology utilizes a fusion perception system combining LiDAR and high-definition cameras. These sensors feature dustproofing and heat-dissipation optimizations to withstand the harsh climate of the Middle East. Furthermore, the system relies on a Bird’s Eye View (BEV) neural network to identify various vehicle types, including large SUVs and pickups.
Safety remains a core component of the system, which streams live surround-view footage directly to the user’s mobile device. Users can pause the operation or take manual control of the vehicle at any moment. Notably, the system uses artificial intelligence models to detect pedestrians and obstacles, making dynamic decisions to avoid collisions.
Operational Boundaries and Limitations
The manufacturer has established clear functional boundaries for the system to ensure safe operation. The valet parking function is strictly limited to parking lot areas and is not permitted on public roads. Consequently, users must still manually handle security checks at mall entrances, public road driving, and parking payments.
Regional Adaptation and Testing
On June 29, the company hosted a media event for Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar to discuss these localized features. The brand management team detailed the technical foundation and addressed questions regarding high-temperature reliability. This event highlighted the company’s strategy to adapt its global product capabilities to specific Gulf mobility scenarios.
