Cisco has launched the Silicon One G300, a 102.4 Tbps switching silicon designed for AI data center infrastructure. The company said the new silicon will power Cisco N9000 and Cisco 8000 systems for large-scale AI cluster deployments.

The announcement was made on February 16, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The systems feature liquid cooling technology and support high-density optics to optimize GPU performance in AI workloads.

Technical Specifications and Performance

The Silicon One G300 delivers 102.4 Tbps switching capacity for AI backend networking. The silicon includes Intelligent Collective Networking, which combines a shared packet buffer, path-based load balancing, and network telemetry capabilities.

According to Cisco, the technology provides 33% increased network utilization and 28% reduction in job completion time compared to non-optimized path selection. The system absorbs traffic bursts and responds to link failures to prevent packet drops that can interrupt AI processing tasks.

Silicon One G300 Programmability Features

The silicon is programmable, allowing equipment upgrades for new network functionality after deployment. This enables Silicon One-based products to support multiple network roles and emerging use cases. Security features are integrated into the hardware architecture.

The management system addresses operational complexity that organizations face when scaling AI data center infrastructure. It provides centralized control for diverse AI workload requirements across different deployment scenarios.

Availability and Market Positioning

The Silicon One G300, G300-powered systems, and associated optics will ship in 2025. The products target hyperscale data centers and enterprise customers deploying AI infrastructure. Cisco positions the technology as supporting the transition to AI-powered workloads across different customer segments.
