Claude paid plans credit will offer a dedicated monthly allocation for programmatic usage beginning June 15, 2026. The credit covers usage of the Claude Agent SDK, claude -p, Claude Code GitHub Actions, and third-party applications built on the Agent SDK.
Third-party tools such as Conductor and OpenClaw, which are built on the Agent SDK, will work with Claude plans and draw from the monthly credit allocation in the same manner as user-created scripts. This change separates programmatic usage from chat and interactive features, allowing subscribers to maintain their existing rate limits for those functions.
Monthly Credit Amounts by Plan Type
The monthly credit allocation varies based on the subscription tier. Pro plan subscribers receive $20 per month, while Max 5x plan users get $100. Max 20x subscribers receive $200 monthly. For team accounts, Team Standard provides $20 per seat, and Team Premium offers $100 per seat. Enterprise plans have variable credit amounts depending on seat type.
- Pro: $20 monthly credit
- Max 5x: $100 monthly credit
- Max 20x: $200 monthly credit
- Team Standard: $20 per seat
- Team Premium: $100 per seat
- Enterprise: Varies by seat type
How the Claude Paid Plans Credit System Works
Users can claim their monthly credit once per billing cycle. After claiming, programmatic usage automatically draws from the allocated credit. When the monthly credit is exhausted, subscribers can continue using additional resources through usage credits, which are billed at standard API rates that can be toggled on or off. If usage credits are disabled, programmatic activity pauses until the next billing cycle resets the monthly allocation.
Monthly credits do not roll over to subsequent billing cycles. Each reset brings a fresh allocation based on the subscriber’s plan tier.
Separation of Subscription Rate Limits
Previously, the SDK and claude -p usage shared subscription rate limits with Claude Code and chat functionality. Starting June 15, programmatic usage receives its own dedicated budget, leaving subscription limits unchanged and reserved exclusively for interactive use. This change addresses concerns raised by users regarding shared rate limit constraints between different usage modes.
Implementation Timeline and User Notification
No immediate action is required from current subscribers. On June 8, 2026, users will receive an email notification prompting them to claim their monthly credits. The new system takes effect on June 15, 2026. Additional documentation is available through Anthropic’s support portal for Claude Agent SDK configuration and usage guidelines.
