A consortium of regional investors has agreed to make a strategic CRTS Global investment to expand pipeline coating services globally. This transaction brings together key financial and industrial players to support the company’s international growth strategy.
The investment group includes The Arab Energy Fund (TAEF) and Zamil Group Investment Company (Zamil). Meanwhile, private equity firm Voyager Interests will maintain its involvement in the company, continuing its support for the firm’s operational development.
Details of the CRTS Global investment
The transaction represents a significant CRTS Global investment that secures a minority stake in the pipeline services provider. However, the participating entities did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement. This transaction aligns with broader efforts to strengthen critical energy infrastructure within the economy of the Middle East. Specifically, the partnership combines the specialized energy services expertise of Voyager Interests with the capital capabilities of the regional investment partners.
Robotic Coating Technology and Operations
CRTS Global uses proprietary robotic tools to apply protective coatings to onshore and offshore pipelines. These specialized applications protect pipelines carrying natural gas, crude oil, potable water, saltwater, hydrogen, and carbon capture materials. Notably, the company acquired RAE Coatings in 2025. Consequently, this acquisition enabled the firm to complete coating services on more than five million field joints globally.
Strategic Regional Growth Plans
The new capital supports global expansion. Robert Trainer, Partner at Voyager Interests, stated that the regional presence of the new partners will help capitalize on global pipeline projects. In addition, Bryan Kirchmer, President of CRTS Global, stated that these strategic relationships will accelerate regional growth.
“This partnership is a milestone for CRTS. TAEF and Zamil bring expertise, regional depth and strategic relationships that will accelerate our growth in the Middle East and beyond.”
Bryan Kirchmer, President of CRTS
Future Outlook for Energy Infrastructure
As investment in pipeline networks accelerates globally, the CRTS Global investment will support the rising demand for specialized coating services. Maheur Mourali, Chief Investment Officer of The Arab Energy Fund, stated that these proprietary capabilities create long-term value. Furthermore, Abdullrahman Khalid Al Zamil, President of Zamil, stated that the business fits their investment approach.
Advisory and Transaction Partners
The successful execution of this strategic CRTS Global investment involved several professional advisory firms. The transaction was supported by financial and legal advisors who facilitated the agreement between the consortium and the existing stakeholders. Specifically, the advisors included PJT Partners, DLA Piper UK LLP, and Dentons, who provided guidance throughout the investment process.
