The global digital payments company Checkout.com has partnered with Agoda to support transaction processing across six million properties worldwide. This collaboration aims to deliver reliable payment infrastructure for Agoda’s global network of hotels, flights, and travel activities. Meanwhile, the integration helps the travel platform manage transactions across multiple markets and currencies during peak demand periods.
Optimizing Global Travel Transactions
To improve transaction success rates, Agoda is using Checkout.com’s proprietary artificial intelligence solution called Intelligent Acceptance. This technology uses real-time network data to optimize routing and make performance-enhancing adjustments for each transaction. As a result, the system reduces failed transactions and false declines in complex cross-border payment flows. Furthermore, the solution works alongside Network Tokens and Real-Time Account Updater to maintain high approval rates.
The Role of Digital Payments in Travel
The travel industry relies heavily on secure financial transactions to connect customers with service providers. Specifically, the digital payments network of Checkout.com supports over 145 currencies and processes billions of transactions annually. In 2025, the company processed more than 300 billion dollars in e-commerce payments volume. Consequently, the integration of digital payments solutions helps travel platforms manage high-volume transactions.
Virtual Card Issuing for Suppliers
In addition to customer transactions, the partnership focuses on virtual card issuing to pay travel suppliers. This system allows Agoda to process supplier payments reliably at scale through a single connected platform. Consequently, the travel platform maintains clear oversight and control over its issuing operations. Pitichoke Chulapamornsri, Senior Director at Agoda, stated that the company chose Checkout.com for its proven performance and technical expertise.
“Our mission is to make travel easy, accessible, and rewarding for everyone, and that requires payments infrastructure we can trust at global scale.”
