ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC Power Systems Projects is currently building six high-voltage substations across Saudi Arabia, with voltage levels ranging between 110 and 115 kilovolts. The projects span multiple regions of the Kingdom and form part of the company’s ongoing work in the power transmission sector.
The substations are being built in collaboration with Saudi Electricity Company and National Grid Company. Global equipment partners Hitachi Energy and Siemens Energy are also involved in the projects.
Substation Locations Across the Kingdom
The six facilities are distributed across three regions. In the Western Region, the “Jawharat Al Arous” and “Naqua” substations are under construction, along with a Riyadh substation. In the Eastern Region, three substations in Dammam are being built: “Al-Nasriyah,” “Al-Khaleej-2,” and “Al-Fayhaa.”
Turnkey Delivery Model
Each project follows a turnkey model covering engineering design, procurement, civil and electromechanical works, grid connection, and testing and commissioning. ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC said this model allows it to manage all project phases under a single delivery framework.
The substations use gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) and high-capacity power transformers. These technologies are intended to maintain operational reliability across the network.

Rabigh Reinforcement Project Also Underway
In addition to the six substations, ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC is executing the Rabigh reinforcement combined cycle power project. This work falls under an agreement between Saudi Electricity Company and Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC).
The Rabigh project scope includes engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning. It also covers performance testing, full operational verification, auxiliary systems, electrical works, measurement and control systems, and civil and marine works.
Together, these projects position ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC as an active contractor in Saudi Arabia’s power infrastructure expansion, which is driven by rising energy demand across urban and industrial areas of the Kingdom.
