Snap Inc. and the Esports Foundation have launched their largest Esports World Cup activation to date for the 2026 tournament in Paris.

The initiative brings a suite of immersive experiences to the event, which runs from July 6 through August 23, 2026. This partnership aims to connect global gaming communities through augmented reality, creator content, and interactive venue installations.

Under this agreement, Snap is integrating its technology directly into the tournament infrastructure. Specifically, the company’s CamKit technology is now active on video boards across the arenas. This allows fans attending the live competitions to interact with Snapchat Lenses, including a custom lens designed specifically for the tournament.

Details of the Esports World Cup activation

This Esports World Cup activation introduces several interactive features for users on and off the platform. For instance, a dedicated augmented reality experience is now available on the Snapchat app. Meanwhile, attendees can use the Snap Map to locate key venues, fan zones, and activities across the Paris event space.

In addition, interactive AR Mirrors are placed throughout the venue to offer shareable digital experiences. These installations allow visitors to engage with digital elements in real time. Consequently, fans can share their experiences directly with their networks.

Creator Content and Map Integration

This Esports World Cup activation also brings together prominent content creators to produce daily updates. These creators will provide match reactions and behind-the-scenes coverage throughout the seven-week event. This content aims to highlight the unique culture and traditions of the participating gaming communities.

“Gaming is one of the most active and engaged communities on Snapchat, particularly in Saudi Arabia where millions of Snapchatters engage with gaming content every month. The Esports World Cup has quickly established itself as one of the defining moments on the global gaming calendar, and we’re excited to bring our biggest activation yet to Paris, creating new ways for fans to connect with the competition, creators and culture that make esports unique.”

Hussain Alhajjar, Head of MENA Partnerships, Snap Inc.

“The Esports World Cup is shaped by its communities. Every one of those communities has its own identity, expressed through language, humor, traditions and its own way of celebrating the games it loves. Bringing them together in Paris is what gives EWC the character that carries far beyond the competition itself. Our partnership with Snap celebrates that creativity and gives communities new ways to share it with the world.”
