The Ferrari Amalfi Spider made its global debut on March 12, 2026, as a mid-front-engine open-top sports car built around a twin-turbocharged V8 producing 640 horsepower. Ferrari presented the car from its Maranello headquarters, positioning it as a balance of performance, everyday usability, and open-air driving within the brand’s lineup.

Powertrain and Performance

The Ferrari Amalfi Spider draws power from the F154 family V8 engine, displacing 3,855 cc and generating 640 hp at 7,500 rpm. Peak torque reaches 760 Nm between 3,000 and 5,750 rpm, with a maximum engine speed of 7,600 rpm and a specific output of 166 hp per litre. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 320 km/h. An eight-speed dual-clutch F1 transmission, first introduced in the SF90 Stradale, manages power delivery. Ferrari said the updated powertrain features independent turbocharger speed control, raising maximum turbine speed to 171,000 rpm for improved throttle response. A new low-viscosity oil reduces cold-start friction by 30 percent compared to the previous generation.

Fabric Roof and Luggage Capacity

The fully automatic fabric roof opens in 13.5 seconds and operates at speeds up to 60 km/h. When folded, the roof measures just 220 mm thick, preserving luggage space. The car offers 255 litres of boot capacity with the roof closed and 172 litres with it open. The five-layer acoustic fabric provides sound and thermal insulation comparable to a hard-top convertible, Ferrari stated. Four bespoke fabric colours and two technical fabric options are available, including the new Tecnico Ottanio shade.

Aerodynamics and Vehicle Dynamics

The automotive engineering team developed active aerodynamics centred on a three-position integrated rear wing. In high-downforce mode, the wing generates up to 110 kg of additional load at 250 km/h, with a drag increase of no more than 4 percent. A 20 mm integrated rear diffuser complements the rear axle. The car also features an integrated wind deflector in the rear seat backrest, activated by a button at speeds up to 170 km/h, reducing turbulence and cabin noise during open-top driving.

Vehicle dynamics rely on the SSC 6.1 lateral slip control system, ABS Evo, E-Diff3 electronic differential, and SCM-E Frs magnetorheological suspension. The ABS Evo system uses a six-axis sensor to estimate vehicle speed and optimise slip at each wheel. Braking distances measure 30.8 metres from 100 km/h and 119.5 metres from 200 km/h. The Manettino dial offers five modes: Wet, Comfort, Sport, Race, and ESC Off.

Interior and Driver Interface

The cabin features a dual-cockpit layout with a 15.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch central touchscreen, and an 8.8-inch passenger display. The steering wheel carries physical buttons and includes the return of the aluminium start button. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility is standard, alongside wireless smartphone charging integrated into the centre tunnel. The MyFerrari Connect system enables remote vehicle monitoring via a dedicated app.

The 2+ rear seat configuration accommodates children or additional luggage. Interior trim elements, including door panels and seat backrests, can be upholstered in the same fabric as the convertible roof for visual continuity between the exterior and cabin.

Tyres, Safety Systems, and Maintenance

The Ferrari Amalfi Spider rides on 20-inch wheels with 245/35 R20 front and 285/35 R20 rear tyres, developed in collaboration with Pirelli P ZERO, Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport, and Bridgestone Potenza Sport. Standard driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot detection, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beam, traffic sign recognition, and driver drowsiness detection. Ferrari offers a seven-year original maintenance programme covering all scheduled service intervals at 20,000 km or annually, using genuine parts and factory-trained technicians.

“The Ferrari Amalfi Spider embodies Ferrari’s sporting character in open-top form, combining performance, elegance, ease of use, and versatility.”

Ferrari, Official Press Statement, March 12, 2026

Ferrari also introduced the Rosso Tramonto exterior colour exclusively for the Ferrari Amalfi Spider, described as a deep red with subtle orange tones inspired by the Amalfi Coast at dusk. The car was designed at the Ferrari Design Centre under the supervision of Flavio Manzoni. Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions figures are pending regulatory approval.
