Google has officially unveiled its new Pixel 11 series alongside expanded hardware at its annual event, introducing processor and camera upgrades. The new lineup includes four distinct smartphone models designed to run the latest Android 17 operating system.
Technical Specifications of the Pixel 11 series
The newly introduced Pixel 11 series spans the base Pixel 11 priced at $899, the Pixel 11 Pro at $1,099, the Pixel 11 Pro XL at $1,299, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold at $1,899. All four models run on Google’s Tensor G6 processor, which provides a 50% increase in compute performance compared to the previous generation. This processor is built to accelerate on-device execution of the Gemini Nano generative artificial intelligence model.
Google stated that on-device AI workloads run up to 3.5 times faster on the new chip while cutting energy consumption by the same proportion. Additionally, a revamped CPU speeds web browsing by 25%. For security, an updated Titan M3 coprocessor adds post-quantum cryptography to the secure boot process. Models equipped with 16GB of RAM are specifically configured to run Gemini tasks.
Camera and Hardware Upgrades
The base Pixel 11 features a dual rear camera setup with a 48MP main sensor that delivers a 56% improvement in light sensitivity over the previous model. An upgraded ultrawide lens uses Tensor G6 algorithms to enable up to 30 times zoom. Meanwhile, the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL feature a 48MP periscope telephoto sensor with a 30% increase in light sensitivity, five times optical zoom, and the same proportion of framing in portrait orientation. The integrated AI system provides up to 120 times zoom, and an updated image signal processor boosts low-light image capture rates by four and a half times.
Google has adjusted its storage configurations by phasing out the 128GB tier in favor of a basic 256GB storage capacity across the entire range. Standard configurations start at 12GB of RAM for the 256GB models, while 16GB of RAM is offered on the Pixel 11 Pro Fold as well as the higher-tier 512GB and 1TB models.
On-Device Artificial Intelligence and Security
Alongside the smartphones, Google introduced the Pixel Watch 5 for $399, which features integrated Gemini Intelligence. The company also launched the Pixel Tag for $29, an ultra-wideband item tracker designed to compete with Apple’s AirTag. Phone orders are currently open with shipments scheduled to begin on August 20, 2026, while the Pixel Tag is scheduled to ship on November 11, 2026.

Industry analysts suggest that the launch of the Pixel 11 series represents a strategic shift in the mobile market. Paolo Pescatore, founder and president of PP Foresight, stated that the smartphone battle is shifting from hardware specifications to AI, software, and the overall user experience.

However, Google faces ongoing challenges in attracting users away from premium competitors like Samsung and Apple.
