The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has completed the transition of the Hajj Data Center to a fully cloud-based infrastructure. Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfig Al-Rabiah inaugurated the 100% migration to cloud computing on June 27, 2026. This transition aims to improve business continuity and the efficiency of digital services provided to pilgrims.
Notably, the migration supports the digital infrastructure required for the annual pilgrimage seasons. The ministry completed the migration to enhance the overall experience of pilgrims. Consequently, the digital systems are now prepared for higher operational demands during peak times.
History of the Hajj Data Center
Established in 2002, the Hajj Data Center has served as the technological foundation for the ministry’s digital services for 24 years. The shift to a cloud environment represents a transition from traditional IT infrastructure to modern systems. This shift allows for greater flexibility in managing data across various platforms.
Integration with the Nusuk Ecosystem
The facility serves more than 20 million pilgrims and Umrah performers annually. Furthermore, its digital platforms include the Electronic Hajj and Umrah Portal, the Nusuk application, and the Nusuk Card. The system integrates with more than 70 domestic and international entities to facilitate tourism and pilgrimage services.
In addition, the infrastructure supports over 51 million users of the Nusuk ecosystem. The platform currently delivers more than 500 digital services to its users. These services are designed to simplify the journey of visitors from around the world.
Alignment with Saudi Vision 2030
Minister Tawfig Al-Rabiah stated that the achievement reflects the continued support for the Pilgrims Experience Program. This program is a key part of the Kingdom’s economic and social development plans.
“The achievement embodies the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in building an advanced digital ecosystem that elevates the quality of services provided to pilgrims performing Hajj and Umrah.”
