The new Huawei GigaUplink solution was introduced at the Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2026 to address mobile connectivity demands.
During the event, technology leaders discussed the growing role of Middle Eastern operators in building infrastructure for artificial intelligence. Consequently, participants reached a consensus that enhancing uplink capabilities is necessary to support next-generation mobile services.
Uplink Capacity Standards for Mobile AI
Specifically, the Huawei GigaUplink technology uses upgraded multi-antenna systems alongside intelligent spectrum algorithms. These systems work with device-network and network collaboration algorithms to improve performance. As a result, the technology delivers a fivefold increase in uplink capacity and a 10 dB improvement in coverage.

Commercial 5G-Advanced Deployment in the UAE
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates is preparing for the commercial deployment of 5G-Advanced networks. The country has already released the U6 GHz spectrum resources required for this technology. Notably, the first commercial deployment using the Upper 6 GHz band is expected during the second half of 2026. This spectrum band is considered strategically important for balancing network coverage and capacity.
Fixed Infrastructure and All-Optical Networks
In addition to mobile solutions, the company showcased its latest optical network products. These products include the industry’s first high-density 50G PON service board for commercial use. Furthermore, an ultra-large OTN cluster solution and an integrated submarine-terrestrial cable solution were introduced to support fixed connectivity requirements.
